Disaster Response Pooled Fund
Last year alone, 2,936 lives were lost, 3,63,381 homes destroyed, and 61,826 cattle perished due to hydro-meteorological disasters in India.
Now, imagine that each of those homes sheltered an average of four people. That means over 1.4 million lives were shattered overnight.

Where did your last ₹1000 go? - A dinner out? A movie night? A quick online purchase? - Now, imagine if that same ₹1000 could change a child’s future.
At the Signature Bridge Camp, hundreds of Pakistani Hindu refugee children dream of an education, a safe space to learn, and a chance at a better life. But as refugees, their families struggle to provide even the basics.

What Would Make You Leave Everything Behind?
Your home. Your job. Your loved ones. What would make you give it all up, pack a small bag, and flee to an unfamiliar land? If no answer comes to mind, consider yourself one of the lucky ones.
Right now, more than 35 million people worldwide have been forced to flee war, disaster, and persecution. Among them are over 2.1 million Hindu refugees seeking safety in India.

Dashboard for Aid Transparency and Accountability (DATA)
A real-time platform that tracks disaster relief funds from source to impact, driving transparency, coordination, and shared responsibility across the ecosystem.
Pakistani Refugee Programme
A rights-based initiative supporting Pakistani minority refugees in Delhi with healthcare, education, shelter, and livelihoods for long-term dignity and stability.
Climate Resilience in the Sundarbans

HAI has demonstrated exceptional leadership not only in advancing transparency of aid and safeguarding frontline workers but also in driving strong global advocacy for transforming the humanitarian system and policies. By mobilizing local resources and fostering regional and international cooperation, HAI continues to champion the localization agenda and make a profound impact in supporting crisis-affected communities in India and beyond!
Regina “Nanette” Antequisa
Executive Director, Ecoweb, Philippines.
The world needs an Indian vision of humanitarian aid. HAI is an inspiring example of practical thinking, compassionate action, and international engagement.
Dr. Hugo Slim
Steering Committee Member and Senior Research Fellow, University of Oxford
It has been wonderful to engage with the work of HAI, to see the fantastic work they are doing to support front line workers, as well as pull more transparency and accountability into the system through their work on the data platform. We look forward to continuing the collaboration with them
Tanya Wood
Director, CHS Alliance.
HAI has made significant strides in humanitarian response, disaster risk reduction, and climate resilience work. We extend our sincere appreciation to HAI, particularly for conceptualizing and developing the Dashboard for Aid Transparency and Accountability (DATA)—a pioneering initiative in the humanitarian sector. DATA is set to revolutionize transparency and accountability in humanitarian funding across India, ensuring aid reaches those in need more effectively and efficiently.
Sandeep Sharma
Executive Director, FMSF
HAI’s focus on enabling the grassroots NGOs towards disaster risk reduction and mitigation is a unique one. It is commendable that HAI is working towards the national agenda of community level preparedness and their resilience building to be able to respond to a bigger disaster
Dr. Nidhi Pundir
Director- CSR, HCL Foundation.
HAI has been able to take the learnings from its programme experience to successfully influence national and international policy debates. From its foundation a mere year ago HAI is now recognised in international policy fora as a respected and authoritative organisation.
Anne Street
Head of Humanitarian Policy, CAFOD
