Our campaigns
Since its inception in 2016, HAI has grown its mandate to build a network of Indian grassroot organisations based on the principle of mutual aid, supporting each-other to strengthen institutions and gain greater visibility and recognition. From mobilizing funds for disaster response and recovery to supporting community-led responses in conflict zones, HAI and its LOCAL members have quite a journey to share.

Last year alone, 2,936 lives were lost, 3,63,381 homes destroyed, and 61,826 cattle perished due to hydro-meteorological disasters in India. Now, imagine that each of those homes sheltered an average of four people. That means over 1.4 million lives were shattered overnight. Families lost not just their homes but their livelihoods, leaving them struggling to rebuild. The emotional and psychological toll is devastating.
